The BMW Sauber F was the Formula One racing car with which the BMW Sauber team competed in the Formula One World Championship. The chassis was designed by Willy Rampf, Walter Reidl, Christoph Zimmermann and Willem Toet with the powertrain being designed by Markus Duesmann. Launch. The FIA implemented a set of rules for the season that saw all teams use one gearbox for four races and a standard McLaren Electronic Systems ECU that prevents the use of driving aids such as traction control and engine braking. The team's A7 chassis was not ready at the beginning of the season, and drivers Marc Surer and Thierry Boutsen drove the Cosworth-engined A6 on ten out of 32 entries, but scored three points with BMW engines later in the year. A particularly eye-catching feature of the F is the mighty front wing. Having said that, the car's nose has actually slimmed down - in equal measure to the rear end. The narrower engine cover has been designed with all-new extra wing elements. Another new and immediately noticeable feature are the hub caps, or "rim shields". Following the commencement in of Renault's Formula One project with a turbocharged engine and increasing success thereafter, BMW decided to develop its own turbo engine for the sport, a programme which it announced to the media in April The team's points total of 11 was their largest score up to that time.

The BMW P80 series is a naturally aspirated Formula One V10 engine produced by BMW. BMW had been the engine supplier to the Williams F1 team since The BMW E41/4 engine at that time was a V10 engine with a cylinder bank angle of 72°. The P80 engine developed by BMW for the Formula 1 season was used in the Williams FW24 Formula 1. But it isnt necessarily true. By this time, the team's relationship with its engine supplier had deteriorated, with BMW believing that its engines were capable of winning championships but were being let down by the Williams chassis they were powering. The car is new in the box and is approximately 10 cm long.
